Objective
Give local shoppers a reason to visit a store with relatively low day-to-day traffic, reconnect with existing customers, and build awareness throughout the surrounding community.
Audience insight
The campaign needed to reach loyal J.Crew customers who already recognized the annual throwback event while also introducing the store and sale to people who regularly worked, studied, or visited nearby.
Strategy
I adapted familiar J.Crew campaign imagery and emphasized returning offers, event activities, and a limited-time reason to visit. The spin-the-wheel discounts added another incentive for customers to make larger purchases.
Execution
I emailed the flyer to our top 250 customers in surrounding towns and personally distributed printed copies to nearby medical buildings, elementary through high school buildings, and local libraries.
Observed results
Compared with typical sale days, store events consistently produce stronger customer and transaction metrics.
Interpretation
My promotional outreach, combined with the event's limited-time offers and spin-the-wheel discounts, helped bring customers into the store and encouraged larger purchases. Comparing the event with the same hours on comparable non-event Fridays provides a clear benchmark for assessing its contribution to store performance.
Store-level promotional adaptation using J.Crew campaign imagery and brand assets. The email count describes distribution, not confirmed opens or attendance.
